Unfortunately this 2020 for us carriers has not remained in good memory, but we hope that will pass. Before this new wave of closures, we took the opportunity to make the journey to Lika and Plitvice Lakes. We start our ride from Rijeka to Senja, where we climb towards Vratnik and continue towards the Memorial Center "Nikola Tesla" in Smiljan. Memorial center "Nikola Tesla" Smiljan consists of historical and newly built buildings. Historical buildings are: Birthplace of Nikola Tesla, Church of the Apostles St. Peter and Paul, commercial building (barn), stone monuments and benches of architect Zdenko Kolaci. Newly built facilities are: porch, test station and multimedia center with associated playground for children. To mark the 130th anniversary of Tesla's birth, the Birth House was reconstructed with the help of the Croatian Parliament and submitted for use in 1986. The Lika Gospić Museum as a museum facility. In 2005, the Memorial Area of Nikola Tesla was registered as a cultural property and registered in the Register of Cultural Goods of the Republic of Croatia. After the Memorial Center we continue to Plitvice. We have all heard a lot about Plitvice, but as the most important thing we would point out that plitvice lakes are the oldest and largest national park of the Republic of Croatia. With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on April 8, 1949, it was proclaimed the first national park in Croatia. The process of saddle, which forms travertine barriers and creates lakes, represents a unique universal value that made Plitvice Lakes receive international recognition on October 26, 1979, by entering the UNESCO World Heritage List.
